Daytona Fishing Reports

Welcome anglers to my fishing reports. I am Captain Fred and I am a Florida fishing guide covering fishing in Orlando, Daytona, and the surrounding regions. My fishing clients catch snook, redfish, snapper, and a long list of species that call the Daytona fishing grounds home.

For Orlando fishing and Daytona fishing: Last week we caught some nice redfish and snook even though the water was cold. The redfish were mostly caught using pin and cut bait and the snook we caught was with doa greenees and small alive grennees too with the best time in the early morning and on the last hour of the incoming tide and to first hour out going tide.

After this full moon is the best time for black drum and sheepshead fishing in Daytona. I like to fish for them on the out-going tide with oysters, crabs, sand fleas, clams, and shrimp. The big ones are here now and next month, March, which is also the best month for redfish around Ponce inlet.

They are not the big bull reds of october but they are still nice sized redfish. Many schools of bait arrive near the shore when the water temperature is near 70 to 75 degrees. This is when the cobia and the king fish come near shore to eat the schools of baitfish with even a few tarpon starting to show as they begin to migrate this time of year. So be ready for one to jump in the boat, or to have a long fun fight with a big one. The Daytona tarpon can get very large so be ready to finesse him to the boat.

If on vacation in Orlando fishing should be added to your to do list and if you are already at the coast then Daytona fishing guide, Captain Fred Robert is ready to show you a fine day on the water catching the highly sought after sportfish of the Daytona Beach fishing grounds.
